LIBRARY FACILITIES AT
1149 units of lockers are available to the users at a minimal fee of RM 2.00 a month with a refundable deposit of RM 50.00. Users may refer to the Circulation Counter if they wish to use this facility.
Free Ringing Zone
The library provides one (1) room for users to use their mobile phones as well as charging them. The room is located at Level 1.
Forty-one (41) units of carrell rooms are provided for users. Any registered user can request to use the room. However, priority is given to graduates and academics as well as final year undergraduates. All users are bound by the following rules and regulations:
Usage of carrel rooms:
- Reservation from outside the library is not allowed.
- Only registered members are eligible to use the facility.
- Only one user is allowed in one carrell room at a time.
- Unattended personal belongings in the room will be taken and recorded as Lost and Found items and will be kept for 14 days. Announcement is also made through the library’s website and notices.
- Users will be charged RM 50.00 for missing keys
This lounge is provided for student use at any time. Food and drinks are allowed in this room. However, its cleanliness must always be maintained.
Chill Out Rooms
Two (2) rooms are accessible for students to chill and take a break in between their busy schedules and private study. These rooms are furnished with easy chairs and large pillows. Light reading materials are also provided.
Electronic Security System.
An electronic security system is in operation to ensure that all materials are properly issued and to prevent any unauthorized removal from the Centre. Disciplinary actions will be taken against anyone who is found removing materials without proper authorization.
Video Conference Room/ Staff Training Room
Video Conference Room located next to the Auditorium can accommodate around 25 people and is also available for smaller group discussions/seminars/workshops.
This kiosk is located outside the library building, specifically at its Lower Ground floor and is operated by students from the Entrepreneurship Club.
The auditorium has always become the choice of venue for seminars, conferences, training classes and workshops. It accommodates 150 people and is equipped with PA system, LCD projector and also WI-FI.
Six rooms are available in the library, located at both Level 1 (near the Reference Counter) and Level 2. It can accommodate around 20 people and are usually used for forums and group discussions.
24-Hour learning Facility
The 24-Hour Learning Facility is available 24/7 for patrons, especially those who wish to use the library after its opening hours. It is accessible from the terrace outside, next to the main entrance.
This is designated as the Social Hub of the library and is located right outside the auditorium. This particular area is designed to encourage users to interact academically and socially in a conducive learning environment.
A big exhibition area is available at the Ground Floor to cater to multi-purpose activities. This area is adjacent to the auditorium near the library’s main entrance.
Muslim Prayer Rooms
These rooms are located at Level 2 and are opened during the library’s opening hour.
Executive Knowledge Cafe
This particular room located at Level 3 is reserved for the management and professionals, academic staff as well as the senior management. It provides a PC with internet access and several reference books.
Computer laboratory is available at both Ground Floor and Level 1. The library provides about 170 units of computers with internet connections. Users are also encouraged to bring their own laptops or any other handheld devices since the WI-FI is accessible to all throughout the library building.
Patron Self-check Machine
Patron Self-Check Machine is a facility provided to put patrons’ item borrowing procedure at ease. It allows them to check out their borrowed items without having them to queue at the Customer Services/ Circulation Counter. Two (2) units of this machine are available at the Ground Floor of the main library’s building and one (1) unit is made available at the Pre-University Studies branch building.
